Nearly doubling its revenue from 2020 to 2023 and having the confidence to look to the future, strong with technologies and skills that are second to none globally. This is the outlook for Cesaro Mac Import of Eraclea, a company with a revenue of 109 million euros in 2023 (up from just over 57 million in 2020), which is involved in the production and distribution of machines for waste treatment and the design and construction of entire plants for composting and anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of urban waste, producing biomethane.

A company born in the mid-1980s to provide the first landfills with the necessary tools for waste management, which now, among other activities, designs, manufactures, and distributes worldwide its Tiger Depack, a “depackager” that allows for the separation of organic from inorganic substances in expired packaged foods.

“We rely on the support of around a hundred employees, with a technical department that makes up about 10% of our total team, and which has always had, from the very beginning, a deep focus on environmental sustainability,” explains the owner, Luigi Cesaro. “This focus translates into technologies that make it feasible and economical to manage urban waste with less impact. We do this both with our waste treatment machines and by designing and building complex plants for handling waste effluents and managing the organic fraction of waste. These plants are capable of providing both quality compost and biomethane, even liquefied, for automotive use, thus advancing a circular economy logic that is not at all common globally.”

In a 2024 made even more complex by the awaited implementation decrees of Transition 5.0, the government’s program for relaunching investments in sustainability and automation, Cesaro sees exports as a potential outlet for know-how built over more than 40 years of experience.

“In terms of sustainability, Europe and Italy really have a lot to say,” assures Cesaro.

“Currently, we export between 7 and 8% of our revenue globally, thanks mainly to our Tiger Depack, but the technologies we adopt and the design solutions we apply to our plants are cutting-edge, and the sales prospects in global markets are promising, although the uncertainties of the period are indeed numerous.”
